4 Rules 4 street photography

Today I would like to present to you few rules of street photography that can help you make better images of a street jungle.

There must be human element on the picture

 Street photography is created by the people, their behaviors, life and emotions. If there are no people on the picture it is not a street photography just urban landscape are architecture shot.

Picture must tell a story

This should be applied to all kinds of photography, but in street photography this rule is very important. Looking at the picture it should make us wonder "what is going to happen next?"

Do not photograph street performers

Beauty of street photography is in showing ordinary people and they behavior. It is always easier to take a picture of someone playing guitar on a street or a street dancer but this will never be good photo of street life. If you really want to take some pictures of a street performer, try to photograph people watching them and their emotions.

Street photography dress code

Your attitude when hitting the streets is one of most important rules. You wont be able to make a good photo if you will be afraid of strangers. You need to confront with your subject. To confront you need to get close. Sometimes real close. You wont be able to to do it wearing vivid colors you must tone them a bit.
